Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the site remember things between page loads and visits — for example that you are signed in or which language you prefer. Some technologies, such as local storage, work in a similar way; in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies Retouch uses and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We group the cookies on Retouch into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary — these keep the site working and secure. They include the session and refresh cookies that keep you signed in, your selected language, and protection against fraudulent requests. The site cannot function without them, so they are always on.
  • Preference — these remember choices you make, such as account settings, so you do not have to set them again each visit. Some of these are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as classic cookies.
  • Analytics — if enabled, these help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. They are only set with your consent and the data is aggregated.

3. Specific cookies

The key cookies we set include a secure, HttpOnly authentication cookie used to keep you signed in across the site and any subdomains, and a cookie that stores your chosen interface language. Strictly necessary cookies typically last for the length of a session or up to 30 days for the sign-in cookie. Preference data persists until you change or clear it.

4. Third-party cookies

Some features rely on third parties. When you make a payment, our payment provider Stripe may set its own cookies to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies. We do not place advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them entirely. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and placing orders, because they are essential to the service.

Where we use optional analytics cookies, you can accept or decline them, and you can change your choice at any time. Declining optional cookies will not affect your ability to use the core service.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us through the Contact page or by email at privacy@retouching.uk.
